Access Munich is a self-service website. We have no accounts, no newsletter, no comments and no contact form, so there is very little to collect — and almost none of what is collected is collected by us.
What we collect ourselves
Nothing you type. There is no login, no sign-up, no comment box and no contact form on this site. We do not ask for your name, your email address or anything else.
Our web host keeps standard server logs — IP address, time, page requested, browser string — which exist to run and secure the server and are not used to build a profile of you.
Advertising: Google AdSense
This site carries advertising through Google AdSense (publisher ID
pub-1421094021464179). Google and its partners may set cookies or read device
identifiers to select and measure ads, and that data goes to Google, not to us. We never see it.
You control this directly and it takes effect immediately:
- Google My Ad Center — turn personalised advertising off, or change what it is based on.
- How Google uses data when you use partner sites.
If you are in the EEA or the UK, Google is required to ask for your consent before showing personalised ads and to offer a non-personalised alternative. That choice belongs to you and can be changed at any time through the link above.
Content delivery and fonts
The site is served through Cloudflare, which sits in front of our server to provide TLS and to absorb attacks. Cloudflare necessarily processes the connection, including your IP address, in order to deliver the page.
Fonts are served from our own server, not from Google. Many sites embed Google Fonts, which sends every visitor’s IP address to Google — contested under EU data protection law and specifically litigated in Munich. We host the typeface ourselves so that request never happens.
What we do not use
No Google Analytics. No Meta or TikTok pixel. No heatmaps, no session recording, no fingerprinting, no data brokers, and no selling or sharing of anything about you. If that changes, this page changes first.
Affiliate links
Some articles carry affiliate links. If you follow one and book something, the merchant may pay
us a commission at no extra cost to you, and the merchant will set its own cookies under its own
policy. Those links are marked sponsored in the page’s HTML and the article says so in
words. Our everyday practical guides carry none.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you may request access to, correction of, or erasure of personal data we hold about you, object to processing, or complain to a supervisory authority. In practice we hold no personal data about you beyond transient server logs, so there is usually nothing to send.
How to make a request — and what this address is not for
Access Munich is a self-service site. There is no support desk and no enquiries address: we publish articles and that is the whole service. We do not answer questions about Munich, we cannot check your particular situation, and we do not take requests for coverage, links, guest posts or advertising.
For the one thing that legally requires a route to us — a request about your own data — write to privacy [at] accessmunich.com. That mailbox is read for data-protection requests only, and anything else sent to it is deleted unread.
Two faster routes that are not us at all: advertising data is held by Google and the settings linked above change it directly; cookies can be cleared or blocked in your own browser at any time.
Children
This site is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect anything from them.
Changes
Last updated 3 September 2026. If what the site does changes, this page is updated before the change goes live. Access Munich is an independent publisher with no corporate parent.
